We had two significant details to resolve: the venues and menus for the Friday evening dinner and Saturday picnic events. OK, so I have to confess that these issues should have been resolved long ago but busy work and travel schedules interfered and, let's face it, some things just can't be handled over e-mail and the internet!
Complete with a massive football/soccer/frisbee ultimate field (above), sand volleyball courts (at left), tennis courts, basketball court, children's playground and three covered pavillions with charcoal grills (below)...Rainbow Park was a godsend. And it has been reserved for our use from 8 am until 2 pm on Saturday, July 4.
Granted, we only have eclusive use of the covered pavillions, picnic tables and grills, but there is plenty of space for everyone to enjoy a day filled with family fun and friendly competition (yeah, right, I forgot this is the Angell Family!) . So bring your tennis shoes, tennis rackets and sunscreen. We will provide the basketballs, footballs and frisbees.
Saturday afternoon and evening in Summit County promises plenty of Fourth of July events for the whole family including the Main Street parade in Frisco that afternoon and fireworks back at the Keystone Resort in the evening.
And bring your appetite! We have a traditional Fourth of July menu of hamburgers, hot dogs, and all the fixins to refuel you after all the fun.
As for Friday evening, we have reserved the Edgewater Cafe at the Keystone Lodge for a family dinner and Angell Family storytime from 6-9 pm. Check in time at the Keystone Resort is 4 pm. From 4-6 we will gather on the deck at the Pine Pool (near our condos) where private shuttles will pick us up and transport us to the Lodge. Private shuttles will also be available to take us back to the Pines section of the Evergreen condos after dinner (at 8 and 9 pm).
We will close the Reunion on Sunday morning in the Silvers Room at the Keystone Lodge with a Family Worship Service featuring all our favorite
contemporary and classic hymms. It will be the perfect way to wrap up a weekend of family fun, fellowship and...food (OK, so I needed a third "F" to finish the alliteration and food was all I could think of -- YOU try writing this stuff!).
I look forward to seeing everyone in ONE MONTH!
